Doesn’t mean it stings any less.
If you had doubts, you should have told me immediately. As in, a month and a half ago. As in, before I met your friends. As in, before you led me to believe that I had more time than just Monday afternoon. You don’t hint that things will be extending into the foreseeable future unless you are planning for that foreseeable future.
I’m not asking you to try for my sake. I’m just telling you, next time, don’t be stupid. Be up-front before she’s attached.
We could have been friends had you told me on our first date, “I’m not interested in you physically.” I could have smiled, shook your hand, and wished you luck as I left. Now it’s just awkward.
